Telus to Extend Free Calls and Text to Ukraine Until May 31

Telus announced on Tuesday the company will be extending its support for Ukraine by waiving long distance calling and texts from Canada to the nation, from now until May 31, 2022.

A company spokesperson confirmed the extension to iPhone in Canada, saying, “We are extending our support to keep our customers connected with their friends and family in Ukraine. Now through May 31, charges for long distance calls and texts made from Canada to Ukraine will be waived.”

All roaming charges for calls, text and data overages for Telus customers currently in Ukraine will continue to be waived as well.

Last month, wireless carriers in Canada announced they would be waiving a variety of charges for calls and texts to Ukraine, currently under invasion from Russia.

SaskTel announced last week it would be extending its free calls and texts to Ukraine to June. Other telcos are likely to follow suit here, so stay tuned for updates.
