Junecloud’s Deliveries App to Lose Direct Package Tracking Support

Deliveries, the popular package tracking app for iOS, iPadOS, Mac, Apple Watch, and the web from Junecloud, will “likely” start to lose direct in-app tracking functionality moving forward due to shipping companies dropping support for it.

The app’s journey began as a Dashboard widget called “Apple Order Status” back in 2006. Over time, support for more services was added and that simple widget turned into the Deliveries app we know and love today.

“Many things have changed over the years, and unfortunately we’re no longer able to maintain the same service that so many of you have come to rely on,” Junecloud CEO Mike Piontek said in a blog post earlier this week.

“Deliveries relies on many different shipping companies, and without their help it’s not possible for the app to continue working the way you expect.”

The app will likely lose the ability to directly display tracking information for various shipping services to users in the near future. Users will not be able to see the delivery date, map route, or any other details for their packages, or even get notifications about shipping updates.

Instead, you will need to use the “View Online” button in the app to go to the shipping company’s website and see your tracking information.

JuneCloud released the latest iteration of the app, Deliveries 9, in September 2020. Piontek went on to say that the developers will “keep making it as useful as we’re able to,” as he thanked his user base for supporting Deliveries over the years.
