Tesla Increases Vehicle Prices in Canada Yet Again

Tesla has once again raised pricing in Canada across its entire lineup of electric vehicles (EVs) — reports Tesla North.

Take a look at the updated starting prices below:

Model Y

  • Long Range – $83,990 (+$1,000; was $82,990)
  • Performance – $90,390 (+$1,100; was $89,290)

Model 3

  • RWD – $61,980 (+$600; was $61,380)
  • Long Range – $74,990 (+$3,000; was $71,990)
  • Performance – $83,990 (+$2,500; was $81,490)

Model S

  • Long Range – $129,590 (+$600; was $128,990)
  • Plaid – $178,590 (+$600; was $177,990)

Model X

  • Long Range – $147,590 (+$600; was $146,990)
  • Plaid – $185,590 (+$1,300; was $184,290)

The Model 3 saw the biggest increase in prices, with the Long Range trim going up by $3,000 and the Performance trim seeing a raise of $2,500.

The Model S and Model X only saw hikes of $600 for the most part, with only the Model X Plaid going up by $1,300.

Tesla had previously hiked Canadian pricing for its vehicles less than two months ago in March, and prices are now heading higher yet again.

The automotive market as a whole is weathering a global chip shortage and supply chain constraints, as well as concerns over the fallout from Russia’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine. What’s more, raw material costs and logistics overhead have been on an uptrend as of late.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk said in March that both the EV maker and SpaceX were “seeing significant recent inflation pressure in raw materials and logistics.” The March price hikes were also a product of growing inflationary pressure, although Tesla is doing much better under the circumstances than legacy automakers.

Tesla last month also removed the included basic Mobile Connector from new orders. The Gen 2 Mobile Connector is now sold separately for $255 CAD ($200 USD) with both a NEMA 14-50 and NEMA 5-15 adapter.
