Pokémon Puzzle League Arriving on Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack on July 15th

Pokémon Puzzle League is the next game to make its way to the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack. The Pokémon-centric puzzle game will arrive on Nintendo’s subscription service on July 15th.

Following the launch of Pokémon Snap on Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack, no one knew the direction Nintendo would take. However, it appears as though its business is as usual as Nintendo is adding another classic N64 title to its growing roster of Nintendo Switch Online titles.

As of July 15th, Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack, subscribers are able to jump in and play Pokémon Puzzle League, a critically acclaimed spin-off. Developed by Nintendo Software Technology, Pokémon Puzzle League first launched on N64 in 2000. The game features the same core gameplay as Panel de Pon. Players must match three or more blocks to clear lines vertically or horizontally on the board. The game features a 3D and 2D mode, unlike previous games in the Puzzle League series.

At the time of its release, Pokémon Puzzle League was reviewed quite highlt and ever sicne has been looked at as a noteable spinoff to the Pokémon franchise. The game was later re-released on the WiiU’s virtual console in 2008. However, it’s since been unplayable on the modern Switch hardware.

The Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscription offers access to a growing roster of classic Nintendo 64 and Sega Genesis titles. An annual subscription is available in Canada for $63.99/year. Each month, Nintendo has been adding a new title to its service, including games like Banjo-Kazooie and The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask, and Mario Golf.

Unfortuantely, Nintendo may be keeping upcoming arrivals underwraps. Whereas previously, Nintendo showed off the full list of games to arrive, upping the anticipation. However, subscribers may have to become comfortable waiting each month to see which games will make their debut on Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack.
