Freedom Mobile Gifting US Roaming Add-Ons to Select Customers

#image_title

Freedom Mobile looks to be in the spirit of giving just ahead of the summer break, as some customers are getting a notification that they are lucky recipients of 30GB of free monthly U.S. data, talk and text.

The text message sent out to select customers says, “big news!” And explains they have “gifted your line tons of U.S. data”, in the form of 30GB per month. The text message from Freedom says this particular customer will also have unlimited talk and text within Canada and the U.S. as well, at no extra cost.

The free U.S. talk, text and data is being added automatically, as there’s no need to opt-in. Freedom Mobile says customers just need to ensure roaming and international calling is enabled in My Account under ‘Manage Settings’.

One Freedom Customer on RFD said they received this U.S. roaming add-on, and they are currently on a $45/50GB with device plan. As for why this gift was offered? It may be Freedom Mobile’s attempt to align some older plans with current market offerings that include U.S. roaming. This ensures customers stick around and don’t even think about jumping ship (that’s the plan anyways).

“This gift is yours for as long as you keep your current plan,” explains the Freedom Mobile text message.

Did you get this free U.S. add-on from Freedom Mobile?

These types of value airdrops work a lot better for Freedom customers that already get excellent value… rather than when Rogers/Fido does them and it just seems like an admission that the receiver isn’t receiving enough value in their plan.
