Apple Intelligence-Powered Siri Refresh Belived to be Arriving in Early 2025

Apple is believed to launch its Siri revamp using Apple Intelligence early next year. The awaited new version of Siri could arrive as early as Spring 2025.

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the refresh of Siri will likely not launch alongside Apple Intelligence. As rumoured in the latest Power On newsletter, Apple may take a few extra months to release the new Siri software. Gurman believes that new Siri features will “debut publicly around the springtime” as part of the rollout of iOS 18.4. Ahead of its public rollout, Gurman believes Apple will begin beta testing for developers in January.

The refined and improved version of Siri is believed to be powered by Apple Intelligence and offers many new AI features. Some of these include the ability to facilitate contextual commands using information that’s available on the screen. The voice assistant is also believed to be receiving ChatGPT integrations as well as a brand-new design.

Gurman goes on to state that he believes that the latter two could debut later this year alongside the launch of Apple Intelligence. Apple Intelligence was first revealed during WWD 2024. Backed by generative AI models, Apple Intelligence is being designed to usher in a bevy of AI-powered features across iPhone, iPad, and Mac. However, as recently reported, Vision Pro headsets may also make use of Apple Intelligence. Unfortunately, as Gurman’s latest newsletter goes on to state, Apple Intelligence will not be supported on Apple Watch at launch.

The initial plan for Siri’s revamp is to have the software compatible with the Apple app exclusively. This means it’ll likely be able to sort through your Photos app, help you craft an email, or contextually respond to texts in the Messages app. Craig Federighi, Apple’s software chief, has said that Siri will support hundreds of different commands initially. However, Siri’s new AI functions will likely be exclusive to the latest Apple devices.
