Fizz Launches Beta TV Service from $2/month

Videotron’s Fizz has launched the beta of its new TV service, offering customizable plans for as low as $2 per month.
Back in May, iPhone in Canada first told you the Fizz TV app was coming for iOS and Android users.
The service is exclusively available to Fizz Internet members, providing them with access to over 100 channels via the Fizz TV app. Currently, Fizz Internet is limited to Quebec, so that means this beta TV service is only available to that province.
Participants in the beta test can select their channels and enjoy a fully personalized TV experience. The basic plan includes 23 channels, with additional channels available for $2 each. There are over 100 channels being offered.
Fizz TV plans are below at beta pricing:
- Basic TV: $2/month
- Basic TV + 5 channels: $10/month
- Bastic TV + 20 channels: $25/month
To join the beta test, customers must subscribe to Fizz Home Internet. Once subscribed, they can customize their TV plan by selecting their preferred channels. The Fizz TV app is available for Android, iOS, Apple TV, Android TV, Chromecast (those with Google TV), Fire TV and is coming soon to Roku, plus Samsung and LG smart televisions.
Looking at the Fizz TV app for iPhone, iPad and Apple TV, it’s developed by VMedia, which is a subsidiary of Videotron’s parent company, Quebecor. Freedom Mobile’s TV service and app (launched in May) is also made by VMedia so the same service is coming to Fizz. But when Freedom Mobile’s TV service debuted, promo pricing was from $10/month.
Fizz says the discounted prices offered during the beta period will remain valid throughout the test. All you need to do is subscribe to home internet, customize your TV plan then download the Fizz TV app to start watching.
