Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold Leak Reveals First Look, Faster Charging, and More
Following a series of leaks earlier this year, the National Communications Commission of Taiwan has now provided a comprehensive look at Google’s upcoming Pixel 9 series devices, including the much-anticipated Pixel 9 Pro Fold.

The NCC leak showcases all four models in the Pixel 9 lineup: the Pixel 9 (model GUR25), Pixel 9 Pro (model GEC77), Pixel 9 Pro XL (model GZC4K), and Pixel 9 Pro Fold (model GGH2X).
These leaks include the first clear images of the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, offering a detailed view of its design and features. Some of the key highlights from the massive leak are as follows (via AndroidAuthority).
Design and Display Changes:
The Pixel 9 Pro Fold features slimmer top and bottom bezels on its internal display, a marked improvement over the original Pixel Fold. The notorious display crease appears to be less prominent, although a hands-on review will be necessary to confirm this.
Additionally, the new design moves the inner selfie camera to the corner of the screen, a change from the previous central placement.

Camera Configuration:
The leaked images confirm the new square camera arrangement for the Pixel 9 series, replacing the iconic long camera bar seen in previous models. This design tweak was hinted at in earlier renders and is now confirmed by these real-world images.
Charging Enhancements:
The NCC reports highlight new charging speeds for the Pixel 9 series. While exact speeds aren’t specified, the Pixel 9 Pro XL is noted to support an approximate 32.67W charging rate, suggesting it may reach at least 35W. This is a notable upgrade from the Pixel 8 Pro, which capped at 30W.
Accompanying the new phones is a 45W Google-branded charging brick (model GW8L7), indicating faster and more efficient charging capabilities.

Internal Hardware:
Photos of the phones’ internals reveal meticulous design and component placement. These images provide a rare glimpse into the hardware that powers Google’s latest devices, reinforcing the company’s emphasis on cutting-edge technology.
Connectivity Features:
The reports also detail the radio support for the Pixel 9 series. All models are certified for Thread, an IoT communication standard, ensuring enhanced connectivity for smart home devices. However, the base Pixel 9 model does not include Ultra-Wideband (UWB) support, a feature present in the other variants.
