NFL Primetime Fantasy App Coming to iOS and Android

Ubisoft, the NFL, and the NFL Players Association have announced NFL Primetime Fantasy, a new free-to-play fantasy football game that’s coming this fall to iOS and Android.

This card-style game allows players to make real-time decisions during live NFL regular season and playoff games. The global launch for the app is set for early November 2024. Users who pre-register for the beta will receive a free early access bundle, including a classic+ card pack and 100 adrenaline points.

“This exciting collaboration with Ubisoft opens up fresh territory in the gaming world for the NFL,” said Ed Kiang, vice president of video gaming at the NFL, in an issued statement to iPhone in Canada.

“NFL Primetime Fantasy marks the first NFL-licensed mobile game tied to our live games, driving fans closer to the sport than ever before. With this new addition to our expansive gaming portfolio, we demonstrate our dedication to offering non-traditional video gaming experiences for our fans,” added Kiang.

NFL Primetime Fantasy on iOS allows users to experience calling the shots during live NFL games, affecting their fantasy points. So if one of your picks goes down with an injury during a game, you can swap in another player in real-time. There’s live fantasy sports action, elite NFL talent collection, weekly events from kickoff through the Super Bowl, and friendly competition with global leaderboards.

The game was developed by Ubisoft, marking the first time it has partnered with the NFL. The benefit of real-time changing of players, according to Ubisoft, is it eliminates that one friend who picks their players for the season and then never touches their line up ever again (you know that guy). This real-time format allows players who follow games live to benefit and rack up more points than their buddies.

Right now, NFL Primetime Fantasy is in closed beta but you can pre-register now on the Ubisoft website (requires signing up for an Ubisoft account).
