New Smaller Mac mini with M4 Coming This Year: Report
Have you been waiting for a Mac mini refresh from Apple? You might not need to wait much longer, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.
Sources tell Gurman a new Mac mini is coming later this year, slated to be Apple’s “smallest desktop computer yet,” part of the company’s shift to AI-capable chips, part of a complete refresh of the Mac lineup.
This new Mac mini will be the first major overhaul of the Mac mini, since the 2010 redesign under Steve Jobs, say sources. As for the size? It’s going to be much smaller, getting close to the size of an Apple TV, say sources.
There will be M4 and M4 Pro chip options, USB-C ports and HDMI on this new Mac mini, which is said to be the equivalent of an iPad but in a super compact size.
The current Mac mini starts at $799 in Canada, powered by M2. It’s unclear if Apple will increase the price of the Mac mini with M4. Your best bet is to buy a refurbished Mac mini from Apple.ca if you’re trying to save money.

Costco has the base Mini on sale for $100 off. This may indicate a clearing of inventory in the channel…maybe?
