Nintendo Live Streaming ‘Museum Direct’ Today Ahead of its Fall Opening

Today, Nintendo is hosting a 10-minute ‘Museum Direct’ to show fans a tour of its Nintendo Museum in Kyoto, Japan.
Announced online, the official Nintendo of America account invites players on a “tour of the Nintendo Museum that’s scheduled to open during the fall of 2024 in Kyoto, Japan!” The live stream will only last roughly 10 minutes but is still an exciting way to take a look at the upcoming attraction.
The Nintendo Museum was previously announced back in 2021. The company has kept the concepts close to its chest. However, it’s expected that the building will pay respect to the history of the company. While yet to be confirmed, it’s within reason that they’ll be touchstones going back to their 1889 origins as a Hanafuda playing card company.
In a follow-up post, Nintendo confirmed that “there will be no game announcements or mention of the Nintendo Switch successor during this presentation.” Anticipation for the Nintendo Switch successor is at an all-time high. Known as the ‘Switch 2’, fans are looking forward to hearing more about the new hardware as the Nintendo Switch nears its eighth anniversary.
Players may not have to wait much longer, however. Shuntaro Furukawa, President of Nintendo, has previously noted that the Nintendo Switch 2 will be announced within this fiscal year, which ends March 31, 2025. Reports claim that Nintendo is eyeing an early 2025 launch for its next console.
Tune in for the Nintendo Museum Direct at 6 PM ET/ 3 PM PT on YouTube as well as Twitch.
