Siri AI is Now Available Across iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27

Apple has officially launched Siri AI, a ground-up rebuild of its digital assistant designed to deliver natural, back-and-forth conversational capabilities, deep personal context understanding, and onscreen awareness.

Powered by the next generation of Apple Intelligence, the upgraded assistant is rolling out as part of Apple’s major software release across iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, watchOS 27, and visionOS 27.

At the core of Siri AI is its ability to tap into a user’s personal context while strictly protecting privacy. By indexing information across native apps like Messages, Mail, Photos, and Notes, as well as third-party apps integrated with Spotlight, Siri AI can fetch specific details from past conversations or files.

Along with personal context, Siri AI introduces full onscreen awareness. The assistant can interpret what is currently displayed on a user’s screen and take relevant action. If a user is viewing a text message with an address, they can simply ask Siri AI to map directions there or add the location to a calendar event.

Apple has also expanded Visual Intelligence. On iPhone, users can invoke “Siri mode” inside the Camera app to analyze real-world objects, scan documents, or split a bill on the spot. Visual Intelligence expands to iPad and Mac as well, allowing users to select screen content via keyboard shortcuts or gestures and ask Siri AI questions directly.

Siri AI introduces a dedicated Siri app that logs and organizes recent conversations. Using iCloud with end-to-end encryption, conversation histories sync across all connected Apple devices. Users can begin a query or brainstorming session on their iPhone while commuting and seamlessly resume the thread later on a Mac or iPad.

Systemwide app actions have also been expanded. Users can prompt Siri AI to execute complex multi-step workflows, such as editing a series of photos and drafting a formatted email with those attachments included. Siri AI also features integrated Writing Tools, enabling users to generate, rewrite, or tweak text anywhere text input is supported.

Siri AI is currently rolling out as a public beta in English. Apple plans to expand language support to French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish.
