Dyson WashG1 Wet Floor Cleaner Available in Canada for $899

Dyson WashG1, the company first dedicated wet floor cleaner, is now available in Canada for $899 starting today.

The Dyson WashG1 was designed off the heels of its V15s Detect Submarine. While the latter provides standard dry vaccuming capabilities, WashG1 features the standard Dyson innovations all dedicated to wet floor cleaning. The device utilizes wet mop technology to tackle spills and other messes.

Dyson’s WashG1 features two counterrotating felt-covered rollers, built with high-density microfibres. These rollers can tackle anything from a ketchup spill to coffee and mud tracks from pets. While the WashG1 is built for wet floors, it’s still able to pick up minor solids whether its pasta or cereal. The front roller is used to regulate and evenly distribute clean water and solution while also picking up wet spills. The rear roller acts as a polishing brush. Going over the wet surface, this roller cleans the area, leaving a streak-free floor.

To house the water required for cleaning, Dyson builf two water tanks into the WashG1. The top tank hold one litre of clean water. Users can add their own cleaning liquid of their choice to assist (avoid harsh chemicals or bleach). As WashG1 cleans and distributes the water, it’ll pick up the dirty water and store it in the bottom 0.8 litre tank. Once you’re done, you can remove both tanks, empty them and refill the top one if needed.

Earlier this year, I had a chance to test the Dyson WashG1 out in a demo setting. As promised, the wet floor cleaner was able to pick up minor spills on flat surfaces like hardwood and tile with no problem. While in a controlled setting, it seems like WashG1 is able to effortlessly pick up new spills over deep grout. While I’m still curious to see how it fares in my own home, it’s good to know that WashG1 is designed to be used in many different rooms, including kitchen, bathroom, and hallways. With three different settings, including Boost Mode, users can tailor the level of hydration and power needed while cleaning.
