How to Watch GTA VI’s Extended Look Today and What to Expect

Today, Rockstar Games is set to give fans a long-awaited deep-dive look at the highly anticipated game with Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look. As previously announced, Rockstar is doing something it has never done before: debuting a major GTA VI reveal on Netflix.

The Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look premieres later today on Netflix at 3 PM ET/12 PM PT, giving subscribers the first opportunity to watch the new footage. Netflix then has six hours of exclusivity on the content. Six hours later, at 9 PM ET/6 PM PT, the presentation will be available for free on the official Rockstar Games YouTube channel and the GTA VI website.

Rockstar has been characteristically vague about what exactly will be included in the Extended Look. The company has not confirmed a runtime or explicitly said that this will be a traditional gameplay presentation.

That has not stopped speculation, particularly because this is being positioned as something more substantial than another conventional trailer. Rockstar’s previous two major looks at GTA VI introduced protagonists Jason and Lucia, the fictional state of Leonida and its Miami-inspired Vice City setting. The Extended Look should provide a considerably deeper look at the game ahead of its November release.

The timing is also interesting. Rockstar is preparing to show off the game just as unauthorized footage has been circulating online. Recent leaks have reportedly included gameplay and character footage, prompting Rockstar to publicly address the situation and describe the leaks as “heartbreaking” and disappointing for the development team.

That makes today’s official presentation even more important. Whatever has leaked, this is the footage Rockstar actually wants people to see.

One thing we probably shouldn’t expect is a complete breakdown of every feature in the game. Rockstar has historically preferred to reveal Grand Theft Auto information on its own schedule, and the Extended Look is still being presented as a showcase rather than a conventional developer livestream.

There has also been speculation about the presentation’s length. Reports have circulated suggesting anything from around 20 minutes to a longer multi-part presentation, but those claims have not been officially confirmed.

Regardless of what Rockstar shows today, the biggest date remains November 19, 2026. Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled to launch on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar’s official site is already accepting pre-orders, with the game also offering pre-order bonuses tied to the Vintage Vice City Pack.

The Extended Look arrives with less than three months to go before launch, so this could be Rockstar’s biggest marketing push yet for the game. If you have Netflix, you get the first look. Everyone else just needs to wait six hours.
