Apple Intelligence Hits Canada with iOS 18.1 Beta 3

Apple Intelligence is now natively available in Canada with today’s release of iOS 18.1 beta 3, according to one iPhone in Canada reader who was able to gain access to Apple’s upcoming suite of AI features following the update (Thanks Jordan!).
The Apple Intelligence beta first became available with the release of the first developer betas of iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS 15.1 last month. At the time, users in Canada who wanted to try out the AI features were met with a message that said, “Apple Intelligence is not currently available in your country or region.”
Users in Canada (and other countries outside the U.S.) could bypass the error message and get on the waitlist for access to the Apple Intelligence beta by changing their region to the United States (and their device language and Siri Language to U.S. English). However, it looks like Canadian users will no longer need to use that workaround as of iOS 18.1 beta 3.
“My iPhone 15 Pro Max was able to join the waitlist for Apple Intelligence,” a reader told iPhone in Canada in an email. “The waitlist took only 10 minutes or so and I now have Apple Intelligence on device.”
The reader mentioned that their device’s region was set to Canada. However, they noted that they still had to change their device language and Siri language to U.S. English to get on the Apple Intelligence waitlist.
Apple Intelligence is a suite of new AI-powered features the tech giant announced at WWDC this year. While some of Apple Intelligence’s big-ticket items — such as the redesigned Siri 2.0 — aren’t expected to debut until later down the line, Apple is already testing many of the upcoming features in beta.
The Apple Intelligence beta is only available on iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. You can sign up for the Apple Intelligence beta by joining the waitlist in Settings > Apple Intelligence & Siri. Let us know in the comments below if you were able to join the Apple Intelligence beta with your region still set to Canada after updating to iOS 18.1 beta 3.

All I had to do was change Siri’s language to US English and I got it.
