Last year, Apple started selling refurbished HomePod 2 units for the first time, but they were not available in Canada.
Fast forward one year later, and you can now finally buy a refurbished HomePod 2 in Canada, as spotted by MacRumors.
Apple’s HomePod 2 was first released in February 2023, featuring the same design as its predecessor. The refurbished units cost $339, saving you $60 off retail. Refurb units go through a “rigorous refurbishment process” before sale.
Now, with Apple Intelligence coming soon, plus a revamped Siri in 2025, it’s likely you don’t want this HomePod 2 as it won’t be able to support it due to its lack of memory. HomePod 2 is powered by Apple’s S7 chip found from the Apple Watch Series 7.
With next-gen AI smart assistants such as Google’s Gemini and OpenAI’s ChatGPT, you may want to hold out for eventual smart speakers that support these over an aging HomePod 2.
But for those seeking to add another HomePod to their home collection, this is a small discount on the speaker. Alternatives such as the Sonos Era 100 for $319 should also be considered.
