PlayStation 5 Welcome Hub Now Available in Canada

PlayStation 5 owners in Canada can now take advantage of the new ‘Welcome Hub’ as it rolls out following an exclusive test period in the U.S.

Last month, PlayStation began testing the use of a tab designated to the Welcome Hub on PlayStation 5. As it rolls out to more markets, you can now find the tab within the PlayStation 5 dashboard. Welcome Hub offers a series of widgets, that provide various pieces of information in a well-designed, easy-to-read layout.

The PlayStation 5 Welcome Hub supports widgets for contextual pieces of information such as the current console storage allotments, your online friends, Trophies, and battery status for your controllers and accessories. The layout of the Welcome Hub allows players to take a glance at this information without having to navigate between different menus and screens.

In addition, the Welcome Hub’s widgets can be adjusted and tailored to your preference. The new tab has a preset layout. However, you can swap layouts if you wish. The Welcome Hub even offers different background options, including screenshots.

If you’re looking for even more ways to enhance your PlayStation 5 experience, a new software update has just rolled out. Version 24.07-10.20.00 is available to install now with a 1.3GB update, improving the way Activity Cards display information. When tapping the PlayStation logo on the DualSense controller, the Activity Cards shown will now highlight ‘In Progress,’ ‘Not Started,’ or ‘Completed,’ depending on whether the activity has been started or completed.

On top of that, the aforementioned update introduces “improved system software performance and stability” while improving “messages and usability.”
