Grok’s Aurora AI Image Generator Launches on X Worldwide

X has today officially unveiled its new Aurora AI image generator. Developed by xAI, this tool integrates with the Grok chatbot and allows users to create detailed, photorealistic images directly from text prompts or by modifying uploaded images.

Aurora is positioned as a competitor to Meta’s AI tools, such as MetaAI and Imagine, and is part of X’s broader strategy to blend social media with cutting-edge AI functionalities.

Aurora replaces the previous Flux model and introduces advanced capabilities for generating hyperrealistic images and text combinations. The tool builds on billions of data points, enabling it to create lifelike representations while following user instructions closely.

Initially available in select countries, Aurora is now being rolled out to all users, with plans for full accessibility in the coming weeks.

Elon Musk has emphasized Aurora’s role in transforming X into a hub for AI innovation. As part of its rollout, xAI encourages users to experiment with Aurora and share their creations, showcasing its potential for both professional and creative uses. However, as with many AI models, some users have reported limitations, including occasional inaccuracies in image details, such as rendering hands.

As part of the launch, xAI is inviting users to experiment with Aurora and share their creations. Selected participants stand a chance to win free Premium+ subscriptions.

Despite its promise, Aurora does share some common AI image generator challenges, such as difficulties in rendering complex elements like hands and other intricate details.
