Epic Games Store Now Pre-Installed on Telefónica Android Devices

Telefónica has partnered with Epic Games to bring Fortnite and the Epic Games Store to millions of Android devices across the telecom giant’s network.

Starting today, the Epic Games Store will come pre-installed on new compatible Android devices in Telefónica markets such as Spain, the UK, Germany, and Spanish-speaking Latin America.

This move makes it easier for players to download popular titles like Fortnite, Fall Guys, and Rocket League Sideswipe, along with other third-party games in the future. The companies also plan to expand this partnership in the coming year, delivering even more benefits for mobile gamers.

Telefónica’s relationship with Epic Games is not new. It pioneered Direct Carrier Billing for the Epic Games Store, allowing seamless payments for users. During the pandemic, Telefónica and Epic Games collaborated on an interactive music event at Fortnite’s virtual O2 Arena, attracting over 10.8 million participants globally.

Lorena Itziar Senador-Gómez Lázaro, Telefónica’s Director of Partnerships and Devices, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, emphasizing its role in delivering accessible and innovative digital experiences.

Similarly, Michael Modon, Epic Games’ Senior Director of Growth Partnerships, highlighted the collaboration’s potential to empower Android players with new choices and opportunities.
