Threads Begins Testing New Feature, Enabling Users to Schedule Posts

Threads has announced that users may soon begin to be able to schedule posts on the social media platform. As indicated by Meta’s site and app, access to the long-awaited is now rolling out to a select number of users.
As announced by the official Threads account, the ability to schedule a post is currently being tested with a small number of users. Once the company feels as though it’s in working shape, it’ll begin to become accessible to all global users. While a specific timeline is undetermined, Threads believes that it may arrive “soon.”
Once the feature is accessible, users will be able to create a post and rather than public immediately, select the option to schedule it to publish at a predetermined time. By tapping the ‘Three-dot button’, Threads offers a new ‘Schedule’ option. Here, users can use the scroll wheel to select a date and time for the post to be published. Once selected and confirmed, a prompt will confirm the designated time and date the post will go live. Until that time, the post will then live in the draft folded with a label confirming the scheduled time as a reminder. Users will be able to go into the scheduled post to edit or delete it before the time it is published.
Threads is steadily rolling out new features as it attempts to continue to compete with X (formerly Twitter) and Bluesky. Last month, Bluesky hit 15 million users, rising to the number one stop on iOS. This week, it was announced that Threads has hit the 300 million monthly user milestone. This places Threads’ MAU as roughly half of X’s 570 million. However, Threads only has around 100 million daily active users, compared to X’s 250 million.
To maintain some forward momentum, Threads recently launched its custom feeds feature. This gives users far more control over the content they see with personalized options. There was also a recent discovery of ‘Loops’, a feature similar to X’s Communities found in Threads’ code.
