How to Create Genmoji on iPhone and iPad [VIDEO]
With the release of iOS 18.2 and iPadOS 18.2, Apple has introduced a creative new feature that allows users to design custom emoji called Genmoji.

Powered by advanced Apple Intelligence, Genmoji takes personal expression to the next level. Whether you want to depict a fun concept, a whimsical idea, or create a digital caricature of someone using their photo, Genmoji gives you endless possibilities for personalization.
Here’s how you can create Genmoji on your iPhone or iPad, integrate them into messages, and even customize them to reflect friends or family.
- Tap a text field, then tap the Emoji button or the Next Keyboard key to switch to the emoji keyboard.
- Tap the Genmoji button at the top right of the onscreen keyboard.
- Enter a description in the Describe a Genmoji field, like “Rainbow cactus.”
- Tap Done.
- To add a Genmoji to a message, swipe through to find the Genmoji you want to use, then tap Add.
To create a Genmoji based on a photo, enter the name of a person you’ve identified in your photo library, add a description—“Danny celebrating his 35th birthday,” for example—tap Choose a Person, select a person identified in your Photos library, then choose a variation.
