Wealthsimple Launches 2% Match Promo for RRSP and More

Toronto-based Wealthsimple has launched a new ‘Big Winter Bundle’ promo, where it is offering up a 2% bonus when you transfer in at least $15,000. The investment service is app-based along with a web interface and looks to rival big Canadian banks.

According to the promo, there’s a 2% match on RRSP transfers, while all other transfers get you a 1% bonus, paid out over 24 months to a Wealthsimple Cash account (that forces you to stick around to get the full bonus).

Here are the bonus match offers for account transfers, along with a free lift ticket offer as well:

• 2% Match: Get a 2% match when you transfer $15,000+ (up to $5 million) into an RRSP, spousal RRSP, or LIRA.
• 1% Match: Get a 1% match for transfers to TFSA, Non-registered, Crypto, FHSA, RESP, RRIF, LIF, Corporate/Business accounts, and all pension-related accounts
• Free Lift Tickets: Earn up to 5 lift tickets (from Canadian Lift Pass) by transferring funds, setting up direct deposits, or referring friends. Valid at 50+ resorts across Canada

You’ll need to register for the promo and then initiate a transfer within 30 days to qualify.

If you didn’t jump on last fall’s Apple promo from Wealthsimple, this one might be better if you want cash back instead.
