How to Watch Xbox’s Developer_Direct Today and What to Expect

Today, Xbox is hosting its annual Developer_Direct presentation. The livestream will comprise numerous looks at upcoming Xbox games, shown by the actual developers. Fans looking forward to South of Midnight, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, and DOOM: The Dark Ages will want to tune in.
This year’s Developer_Direct will show off in-depth looks at the aforementioned games and how they are created, says Xbox. The event itself will feature chats from Montreal’s very own Compulsion Games, where the studio will discuss South of Midnight. Over to Richardson, Texas, id Software will talk about its upcoming DOOM: The Dark Ages. Finally, third-party developer France-based Sandfall Interactive will show off Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.
Here’s how to watch Xbox’s Developer_Direct and what to expect.
As is tradition for Xbox’s Developer_Direct, the presentation will offer new looks at each of the featured titles. We’ll likely see more cinematics and gameplay from South of Midnight, an action-adventure game that is set in the American Deep South. Inspired by Southern Folklore, the game features Hazel as players explore various mythos and come across mysterious creatures.
DOOM: The Dark Ages is the prequel to DOOM (2016) and DOOM Eternal. Id Software’s upcoming game will tell the tale of the Doom Slayer’s origins. Set in a medieval-inspired Hell, players will rip and tear through demons using a full arsenal of weapons, including a new shield weapon. Xbox promises that a “full game reveal” will be a part of the Developer_Direct.
As for Sandfall Interactive’s Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, players can expect a new look at this RPG. Xbox confirms the “team will share more about the game’s creation and how they plan to deliver an incredible story in a gorgeous fantasy world.” Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is the debut game for the studio, so expectations are fairly high to see what the team is capable of.
Finally, an unannounced game will be discussed at the Xbox Developer_Direct. “Visit a surprise location to see another studio’s brand new game,” Xbox teases in a press release.
