Public Mobile Just Increased the Price of its 5G Plans

Public Mobile told us their Canada-US-Mexico promo pricing was set to end on January 30, and as of today, the Telus-owned company has released revised pricing on its website.

Here’s the new 5G Canada-US-Mexico pricing—it went up in price:

Both the 80GB and 100GB plans include 1,000 international long distance minutes. It’s basically a $5 price hike across the board for the $39, $49, and $59 plans which match Freedom Mobile.

But the difference is Freedom includes 8GB of bonus data on top, plus Roam Beyond, which Public Mobile doesn’t even support.

As for 4G plans? They went up in price earlier this week. But there are changes including a new $23/1GB plan and the $27 plan that went up in price has lost 4GB of data, down from 10GB to 6GB. Public Mobile is definitely making some dizzying changes here:

Public Mobile’s homepage says it features “costs you can forecast”, but obviously that doesn’t apply to new customers signing up as they’re now paying more for 5G and 4G plans.

It was previously $29 10GB CAN/US/MEX, not 5GB, so it just costs more for the same.
