Fido, Koodo and Virgin Plus Shake Up Plans After Lunar New Year
After last month’s Lunar New Year promos, plans have revamped over at Fido, Koodo and Virgin Plus.
Let’s take a look at where things stand just over a couple of weeks after promos have ended.
Fido
- $45/60GB
- $55/80GB
Previously, the plans above said they included a 10GB and 5GB bonus for 24 months, but now the bonuses look to be “permanent”.
Koodo
- $39/20GB
- $44/60GB
- $54/80GB
We see the $40 plans for 50GB and 60GB are gone. We have a $1 cheaper plan at $39, but the data has been slashed to 20GB. The $50 promos that had 75GB and 90GB are gone, with the price jumping to $54 for 80GB.
Virgin Plus
- $45/60GB
Over at Virgin, we see the $45 plan gain 10GB to 60GB, matching Fido. There’s only one lonely data, talk and text plan as the previous $55/75GB plan is gone. Does Virgin Plus not want any customers?
Freedom Mobile Still Has Better Plans with Included Roaming
For comparison, here’s what Freedom Mobile is offering right now–which includes Canada, US and Mexico roaming for talk, text and data:
- $10/100MB (2 hours talk)
- $25/3GB
- $20/10GB + 1GB Roam Beyond
- $39/60GB + 5GB Roam Beyond
- $49/60GB + 15GB Roam Beyond
- $59/60GB + 25GB Roam Beyond
We recently saw Rogers and Fido raise connection fees to $75 if you activate or renew with a human. Expect Telus and Koodo and Bell and Virgin to follow suit. Email us at ti**@************da.ca if you spot the change, as we’re keeping track too.
