Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has more details about Apple’s upcoming product roadmap, and for MacBook Air fans, the next update is said to be coming in March.
Gurman says new 13-inch and 15-inch models with the latest M4 Apple Silicon is gearing up for a March release. Sources tell him Apple is preparing its retail and sales teams for the M4 MacBook Air debut, while existing inventory is dwindling at retail stores, another hint something new is coming.
We’ve also seen some decent sales on M2 and M3 MacBook Airs, so it’s no surprise an update is coming to bring M4 just like we’ve seen for the Mac mini and MacBook Pro.
With Apple lining up all its Macs with M4, it’s clearly readying all its computers for the future of Apple Intelligence.
Let’s hope prices remain the same in Canada, as the low Loonie is affecting local pricing. With the iPhone 16e, Apple is using an exchange rate of about $1.50, clearly hedging that the Canadian dollar might fall further. The M3 MacBook Air starts at $1,449 CAD, which is already getting up there and below current exchange rates based on the device’s US entry pricing of $1099.
With current exchange rates, the M3 MacBook Air in Canada should be at least $1,564 CAD. If Apple uses the same hedged rate from the iPhone 16e and applies it to the M4 MacBook Air, we might see the laptop starting at $1,649 CAD. The M4 MacBook Pro starts at $2,099 in comparison. Fingers crossed, folks.
