iOS 18.4 Beta 2 Drops Fresh Emojis: See What’s New

ios 18 4 new emojis

Apple has introduced nine new emojis in the second iOS 18.4 beta released this morning, giving users a preview of what’s coming in the next software update.

New Emojis in iOS 18.4 Beta

The latest batch includes the following emojis, as first shared by Emojipedia:

  • Face with Bags Under Eyes
  • Fingerprint
  • Splatter
  • Root Vegetable
  • Leafless Tree
  • Harp
  • Shovel
  • Flag: Sark

These emojis come from Unicode’s Emoji 16.0 list, announced in September 2024. While they are available in this beta, they aren’t yet categorized within the Apple emoji keyboard but can be found using the search bar.

One of the most unexpected additions, according to Emojipedia, is the Flag for Sark, a small island in the English Channel, part of the Bailiwick of Guernsey, a British Crown Dependency. This makes it the first new regional/national flag emoji added through this mechanism since Emoji 1.0 in 2015.

Unicode stopped accepting new flag proposals in 2022, but Sark got an exception because it received an ISO 3166-1 code (CQ), which made it eligible for a flag emoji automatically. Since Unicode relies on ISO codes for flag approval, Sark’s flag was added without needing a separate proposal. Canada’s country code is fittingly CA in Unicode.

iOS 18.4 beta 2 is now available (and more) for developers, and Apple is expected to release the final version in late March or early April 2025. The first beta of iOS 18.4 also introduced Apple Intelligence features in the EU, giving users there access to Genmojis for the first time. The final designs of these emojis may change before their release, of course.

What do you think of these latest emojis coming soon in iOS 18.4?

Are users asking for new emojis these days? I am just curious if I am the only one who used the same ones over and over, lol.

Because retarded people love emojis. That's why it seem bloggers keep mentioning new emojis over security and software improvements.
