New Apple Mac Studio ‘Imminent’ This Week, Says Report
Apple may be gearing up to release a new Mac Studio as early as this week, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.
Gurman revealed on X this morning that the new Mac Studio (codenamed J575) could launch alongside the rumoured M3 MacBook Airs.
The biggest change? Apple may equip the Mac Studio with an M3 Ultra chip instead of an M4 Ultra, allowing it to stand apart from the Mac Pro, which could be upgraded to an M4 Ultra down the line.
Currently, both the Mac Studio and Mac Pro share the same M2 Ultra chip, making them nearly identical in performance. By updating only the Mac Studio with M3 Ultra, Apple could create more differentiation between the two models, says Gurman.
If Gurman’s report is accurate, we could see the new Mac Studio announcement this week—and alongside expected new MacBook Air models.
Today, Apple launched an updated iPad Air with M3 and new iPad 11 (with A16).
