PlayStation’s Beta Program Registration is Now Open

Sony has opened up its Beta Program for the PlayStation ecosystem. The program is designed as a way to centralize players as a means to test future software updates, features, and PlayStation experiences.
As detailed on the PlayStation Blog, players can register their interest in a range of different features and games. “A single registration for Beta Program at PlayStation will allow you to express interest in gaining beta access to test participating games for the PS5 console and PC, new PS5 console features, PlayStation App features, and even user experience features on PlayStation.com,” the blog highlights.
You can register to join the Beta Program here. In order to do so, you must have an active PlayStation Network account with a current email address. You must also live in a region where the Beta Program is active, which includes Canada, the US, and other global markets. Finally, you must be of the legal age requirement in that region.
During the registration process, you’ll be asked a series of questions. Questions include which beta types you’ll be interested in trying for yourself. You’ll also be asked about the platforms you’re interested in, including PlayStation 5, PC, and the PlayStation mobile app. Additionally, preferences regarding game types and genres will be questioned.
It’s worth noting that the entirety of the Beta Program falls under a volunteer structure. No one who signs up is guaranteed to obtain access to every beta. In the event that you gain access to a beta to an upcoming game, being enrolled in the Beta Program does not guarantee that access to the game will be available following the beta.
It’s currently unclear what PlayStation will focus on when concerning upcoming betas. The company does test many features prior to a global launch. In the past, PlayStation 5 beta support included the introduction of personalized 3D audio as well as DualSense controller sound options.
