Google Pixel 9a Leaks in Full Unboxing Video Ahead of Launch

Google Pixel 8a from 2024

With the Google Pixel 9a rumoured to launch on March 19, leaks are ramping up for its entry smartphone.

Following earlier marketing renders, a full unboxing and hands-on videos have now surfaced on YouTube, giving a clear look at Google’s upcoming mid-range smartphone, according to Android Police.

YouTuber Sahil Karoul posted the most in-depth Pixel 9a unboxing (it’s in Hindi), showcasing its flat rear design with an almost flush camera module, a major shift from previous Pixel models. The iPhone-like flat frame remains and there’s a 6.3-inch display again. It’s nice seeing a fairly flush rear without the camera bar like we saw with the Pixel 8a. A relatively flush rear camera area looks pretty darn good.

The video also tests the new Tensor G4 chip, which performs well in benchmarks without overheating. Camera samples highlight OIS stabilization, and the 5,100mAh battery suggests improved battery life.

For English speakers, The Mobile Central offers another detailed video. With no price hike expected, the Pixel 9a could offer solid value, and some regions may even get a free Google TV Streamer. Stay tuned for tomorrow as we might officially hear from Google on what the Pixel 9a will be all about.

Last year’s Pixel 8a started at $679 in Canada. If pricing remains the same, that would make Apple’s iPhone 16e at $899 looking way more expensive.

What's the drawback of the Samsung chip?

Tensor G5 will be fabbed on TSMC’s 3nm-class node and Google will use Arm Cortex CPU cores. The big difference on the G5 is that Google will opt for an Imagination Technologies GPU, namely the IMG DXT, which replaces the Arm Mali-G715 MP7 from the Tensor G4. it also a full google chip design from Google from the ground up .

It's retarded The Pixel is so not worth it. There are inexpensive Android phones at Costco now on sale for mid $200s and early $300s.
