Public Mobile Just Matched Freedom Mobile’s 100GB Plan and More
After Freedom Mobile launched a new $45/100GB Canada-US-Mexico plan with 15GB Roam Beyond, Telus-owned Public Mobile has quickly pivoted to match this plan.
Here are Public Mobile’s plans as of March 21, 2025:
5G Plans (Canada-US-Mexico)
- $29/20GB + 100 international minutes (ends March 24)
- $35/60GB + 500 international minutes
- $45/100GB (NEW; was 80GB) + 1000 international minutes
You’ll notice the $45/100GB plan is new, as it previously had 80GB. Gone is the $55/100GB plan that included 1,000 international minutes. In a nutshell, the price for 100GB data just dropped by $10.
4G Plans (all Canada-wide):
As for Public Mobile’s 4G plans, the $20/1GB plan was axed, replaced by the $19/1GB plan making it $1 cheaper to get 1GB of data. Previously, it cost $19 for 500MB of 4G data.
Public Mobile’s offerings have significantly simplified, down to just three plans each for 4G and 5G.

Few will ever need that much data. It's just marketing and mind f***king.
I will note this there are two advantages to this plan over Freedom.
1) No need for hard handoffs when you leave freedom to switch onto Rogers / Bell. Public's network is Bell / Telus', the largest.
2) In Mexico you will roam on Telcel. With Freedom, it's roaming on Movistar (which has terrible speeds and coverage).
