Apple Music Exclusive Drops Oasis Albums in Dolby Atmos

We didn’t expect this on our Friday morning bingo card, but Apple Music has released the full Oasis catalogue in Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos, giving fans a new way to experience the legendary British band’s biggest hits and albums.

This includes classics like ‘(What’s The Story) Morning Glory?,’ ‘Be Here Now’, and compilation albums ‘Time Flies…’, ‘The Masterplan,’ and ‘Stop the Clocks.’ These join previously available albums like ‘Definitely Maybe’ and ‘Oasis Knebworth 1996 (Live).’

Oasis was formed in 1991 and major hits include the classics like “Wonderwall,” “Don’t Look Back in Anger,” and “Champagne Supernova” which was 30 years ago (man, I feel old).

The remixes were crafted over 18 months by Grammy-winning producer Ryan Hewitt, who rebuilt the tracks from scratch using the original studio recordings. He said his goal was to preserve the power and emotion of the original mixes while bringing them into a new three-dimensional sound space.

Spatial Audio creates a 3D listening experience by placing audio around and above you, making it feel like you’re inside the music, versus traditional stereo with its left and right channels. Apple products that support Spatial Audio include AirPods 3 and newer, AirPods Pro, AirPods Max, select Beats and more.

“Honouring the original mixes, and the original intention of the sound of these records, which are so loud and explosive, and transferring that to Dolby Atmos was one of the greatest challenges of my career. These records sounded big in the first place, and now they sound even bigger on Apple Music in Spatial Audio whilst honouring the original spirit of the recordings,” said Ryan Hewitt, Grammy award-winning producer, engineer and mixer, in a statement on Friday.

The release comes just ahead of the band’s much-hyped Oasis Live ’25 tour. You can listen to The Matt Wilkinson Show where Hewitt chatted about adapting each album here. The new Oasis albums in Spatial Audio can be heard here.
