Tesla Spring Update Lets You Shuffle Bigger Apple Music Playlists

Tesla’s latest software update, version 2025.14, is starting to roll out — and one small but welcome change is aimed at Apple Music users.

Every year, Tesla releases a huge Spring Update that brings new features. Version 2015.14 rolling out is this update.

One notable highlight for Apple users? Tesla owners can now shuffle Apple Music playlists that have more than 100 songs. Before, the shuffle feature didn’t work on larger playlists, which frustrated users who rely on longer mixes during drives.

This tweak is part of a batch of “minor updates” in Tesla’s Spring Update, which also includes improvements like a wider rear camera view, faster media searches, and auto-connecting Wi-Fi hotspots.

The update also brings new trip planning options, lets you avoid highways in navigation, and adds more dashcam features — but for drivers who stream music on the road, the Apple Music upgrade might be the most noticeable change. There’s now also an option to automatically enable Sentry Mode (the Tesla camera recording feature) when parked. This looks to thwart people who continue to vandalize Tesla vehicles because of their hatred towards Elon Musk.

Here are the major feature updates in the 2025.14 Tesla Spring software update (via Tesla North):

  • Choose between Fastest, Best Amenities, or Fewer Stops for trip planning.
  • New option to avoid highways in navigation settings.
  • Side cameras now record to Dashcam and Sentry Mode.
  • Dashcam Viewer updated with a grid view for easier clip review.
  • Save custom trunk height based on location (e.g. garage).
  • Add and switch between multiple keyboard languages.
  • Keep USB ports and wireless charger powered after exiting vehicle.
  • Charger pages show nearby restaurants, cafes, and shops.
  • Media search results now filtered by source.
  • Apple Music playlists with over 100 songs can now be shuffled.
  • YouTube Music ‘Up Next’ view shows upcoming songs.
  • Option to show/hide non-Tesla chargers in Navigation.
  • Rear camera now offers a wider field of view.
  • Wi-Fi hotspot now auto-connects when driving starts.
  • Includes important security fixes and improvements.
