Apple Canada Launches iPhone Trade-In Bonus Worth Up to $885

Apple Canada has kicked off a new trade-in promotion starting today, May 22, offering extra credit to customers who trade in their old iPhones.

The limited-time offer runs through June 18, 2025, and applies to those trading in an iPhone 12 or newer. We are about four months away from an expected iPhone 17 series launch in September.

According to Apple, customers can receive between $200 and $885 CAD in credit when they trade in their eligible iPhone and purchase a new Apple device. The estimated trade-in value is the highest for the iPhone 15 Pro Max.

The promo was announced in an email to customers early Wednesday and received by iPhone in Canada, with the subject line: “Apple Trade In offer starts now. Go ahead. Take all the credit.” Apple is positioning the offer as an easy three-step process: check your iPhone’s trade-in value, upgrade to a new device, then return your old one to receive credit.

“With Apple Trade In, you can get a great price for your current device and apply it towards a new one, online or at an Apple Store,” reads a note on Apple’s website. “If your device isn’t eligible for credit, we’ll recycle it – and any accessories you no longer use – securely and for free.”

The promotion arrives months ahead of the expected iPhone 17 series launch this fall (including a rumoured and super thin iPhone 17 Air), likely aiming to encourage upgrades before the new models are announced. Who’s going to jump on this trade-in promo from Apple?
