WhatsApp for iPad Is Finally Here—Download It Now

Meta’s WhatsApp has finally released an app for Apple’s iPad for the masses, and it only took 16 years.
It’s been a longtime coming for the messenger app to hit the iPad, as beta testing started in late 2023. WhatsApp announced the iPad release this morning on Threads, saying simply, “It’s here! WhatsApp is now available on iPad.”
WhatsApp allows for messaging plus video and voice calls over a data connection, tied to your phone number. It’s one of the best apps to use across various devices and operating systems and its group messaging features are way better than Apple’s iMessage.
Now there’s still one missing piece—a native WhatsApp app for Apple Watch (maybe that might take another 16 years).
WhatsApp was founded in 2009 by Brian Acton and Jan Koum, former Yahoo employees, aiming to create a simple, cross-platform messaging app. It gained rapid popularity for its free, ad-free messaging and was acquired by Facebook (which is now Meta) in 2014 for $19 billion US. WhatsApp has over 3 billion users worldwide, with its end-to-end encrypted messaging, voice, and video calls.

Can I be logged into both at the same time. That’s the real question. If I can’t, I don’t want it
I’m logged into WhatsApp for iPad, iPhone and my Samsung Galaxy Tab S9+. No problem at all so far.
