How to Change Your iPhone Passcode and Enable Stolen Device Protection

The Apple Support YouTube channel recently released a new how-to video showing iPhone users how to change their passcode and review important security settings directly in the Settings app, specifically enabling Stolen Device Protection.
To get started, go to Settings. If your phone uses Face ID, tap Face ID & Passcode. If you use Touch ID, tap Touch ID & Passcode. Then enter your current passcode.
Scroll down and tap Change Passcode. Enter your passcode again, then choose a new one and type it in twice to confirm.
If you want to check what settings might allow others to access your data, tap Review Access. From there, you can tap Reset All to reset those settings, or go to More Options for more detailed controls. One option is Safety Check, where you can review settings related to your Apple ID and personal data sharing. If you’re happy with your current settings, you can tap Don’t Reset Access.
Apple says you can also boost your iPhone’s security by turning on Stolen Device Protection. This feature delays certain actions—like changing your passcode or Apple ID password—if you’re not in a familiar location (if you’re travelling for example). You can also set it to Always require a delay, even when you’re at home.
Once you’re done adjusting your settings, tap the Back button to save everything. Check out the video tutorial to see everything step-by-step:
