Apple’s iPhone 17 lineup isn’t expected to debut until September, but new leaks are giving us an early look at what’s coming — this time, it’s the ultra-thin iPhone 17 Air in a sleek matte black finish.
Shared by leaker Majin Bu (@MajinBuOfficial) on X, a new hands-on video showcases an iPhone 17 Air dummy unit that’s bound to turn heads. Majin Bu has built a fairly solid track record when it comes to Apple leaks, including last year’s accurate scoops on the iPhone 16’s redesigned camera bump and larger batteries.
The device depicted in the new video sports an ultra-thin profile in line with what we’ve seen from previous iPhone 17 Air leaks. This stands in stark contrast to its larger sibling, the iPhone 17 Pro Max. Majin Bu previously leaked a hands-on video of an iPhone 17 Pro Max dummy, showing off its noticeably bulkier design — likely to accommodate the rumoured largest battery ever in an iPhone.
This new iPhone 17 Air dummy looks especially striking in matte black, a colourway that emphasizes its minimalist design. Around back, you’ll find a single rear camera housed within a full-width camera bar, giving the phone a distinctive and clean aesthetic. The front sports a simple, uniform look, with a centred Dynamic Island cutout and no visible buttons.
While the iPhone 17 Air’s thinness will surely be its selling point, its price will be anything but slim. The device is speculated to start around $1,300 CAD in Canada — so prepare your wallet.
Of course, the Air isn’t expected to come in just matte black; a Sky Blue option, reportedly inspired by the same colourway on the M4 MacBook Air, is also in the pipeline.
Are you eyeing the ultra-thin iPhone 17 Air or leaning toward the battery-heavy iPhone 17 Pro Max? Or are you underwhelmed by what we know about the iPhone 17 lineup so far and planning to skip it altogether? Let us know in the comments below.

Daaang, that's a thin phone. I guess they're confident about 'pocket bend' not being an issue anymore.
so thin it needs to be recharged in the middle of the day
