Bell is the ‘Fastest Mobile Provider’ in Canada, Says Ookla Report

Ookla, a leader in mobile network and connectivity insights, has released its 1H 2025 Canada Connectivity Report today. In it, Bell has once again been given the title of ‘fastest mobile provider in Canada’.

The latest report includes data taken between January and June 2025. According to Ookla, Bell Mobility was the fastest mobile provider in Canada during the period. During this period, Bell Mobility has received a Speedtest Connectivity Score of 69.42 for its 5G network. This score is said to combine “key metrics to evaluate the overall user experience that mobile providers offer.” According to the data, Telus was ranked a close second, with Rogers trailing behind.

This is effectively the second year Bell has been given recognition for its mobile network. Ookla has given Bell a series of Mobile Awards this year. This includes recognizing Bell Mobility as having the ‘Fastest Mobile Network,’ ‘Fastest 5G Network,’ and ‘Best 5G Network.’ The carrier also walked away with ‘Game Score’ and ‘5G Game Score.’ However, with all this said, Telus did garner the ‘Top Rated’ award.

Looking over regional performance, Saskatchewan once again leads with the fastest median mobile download speed in Canada. Median download speeds in the province grew from 102.42Mbps recorded last report to 122.85Mbps. Manitoba and Newfoundland and Labrador came in second and third, respectively. Bell and Rogers were the fastest providers across two regions each.

Breaking it down to individual cities, Winnipeg had the fastest median mobile download speed among Canada’s most populous cities, with 137.59 Mbps. Vancouver then trailed closely behind with 134.85Mbps, and then Toronto in third with 131.15Mbps. Bell was the fastest provider across two cities, followed by Rogers in one.
