Chatr Launches International Data Roaming: Here’s Pricing

Rogers-owned prepaid brand, Chatr, has launched international roaming add-ons for the first time.

These 30-day passes will let you use your data while in North America and overseas. Once you make a purchase of a data add-on, it will stay in your account until your next anniversary date.

Data Roaming Add-Ons

• $15 / 1GB – India & China
• $15 / 1GB – France, Germany, Italy, UK
• $20 / 5GB – USA & Mexico

International Calling Add-Ons

• $10 / 75 min – Ukraine, Russia, Turkey, Philippines, Sri Lanka
• $10 / 275 min – Bangladesh, China, Hong Kong, India, Mexico, UK, France
• $10 / 10,000 min – USA

The add-on for the US and Mexico works out to $4/1GB when you purchase the $20/5GB add-on. Overseas data roaming is $15 for 1GB. If you can use your data sparingly, this is an “easy” way to do it, but for those capable of subscribing to eSIM data from companies such as Saily or Airalo, you can save money on your roaming data.

This is a step in the right direction as this move by Chatr will hopefully force Telus-owned Public Mobile and Bell-owned Lucky Mobile to offer international data roaming as well at some point.
