Apple AirPods Pro 3 May Stagger Release of New Features

Apple’s expected AirPods Pro 3 may not offer all new features at launch. According to new rumours, features such as Live Translation may arrive post-launch via a software update.

It’s claimed that AirPods Pro 3’s expected Live Translation feature will not be available right out of the gate. A “anonymous tipster” spoke to 9to5Mac, stating that Live Translation “as rumored earlier is not ready, and will likely be added in a later software update.”

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman earlier claimed that the feature was in development from Apple. Working in conjunction with iPhone, AirPods Pro 3 is believed to be able to process different conversations in various languages and translate the dialect via the AirPods into the user’s ears.

For instance if the AirPods Pro 3 user is interacting with someone speaking Spanish, the iPhone will be able to translate the Spanish speech, translate it to English and relay it to the the user. This feature largely exists via the Translate app on iPhone where the device will detect various languages and translate speech before relaying it outloud.

While Live Translation is believed to be delayed, Apple is expected to ship its AirPods Pro 3 with a few new features. For instance, the pro-level earbuds are said to feature two new health sensors.

The first is heart rate sensing, a long rumoured feature. The AirPods Pro 3 is expected to support the same heart rate sensing feature of Beats Powerbeats Pro 2.

A second health sensor believed to be developed is said to be temperature sensing. Unfortunately, the in-ear tempurature sensing feature doesnt have many details beyond the base-level inclusion.

This being said, Apple’s iPhone 17 event is taking place on September 9. Here, it’s expected that the iPhone 17 series will be shown in full alongside other devices like the AirPods Pro 3. So, we’ll likely have additional details and exact pricing for new Apple innovations soon.
