How to Update iPhone and iPad to iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 [VIDEOS]

Apple Support has uploaded two new YouTube videos explaining how to update an iPhone or iPad to iOS 26 and iPadOS 26. The tutorials also apply to future software updates.

In the first video, Apple walks users through updating an iPhone and iPad wirelessly. After backing up the device, connecting to Wi-Fi, and plugging into power, users can go to Settings > General > Software Update to download and install the latest version. Updates can be installed immediately with “Update Now” or scheduled overnight with “Update Tonight.” With Automatic Updates enabled, iPhones will handle the process on their own while charging.

Now, if you’re low on storage you may also need to delete a bunch of stuff, especially if you’re rocking a device with full storage for example. Delete those group chats with huge attachments. Apple needs a better way to clear space this way within Messages, so people can free up storage better. It’s so time consuming to delete attachments one by one.

The second video shows how to update using a computer. On Macs running macOS Catalina or later, the process goes through Finder. On Windows PCs, the Apple Devices app is used, or iTunes for older systems. After connecting the iPhone or iPad, users select the device, click “Update,” and follow the prompts.

Once complete, the device restarts and is ready with the latest features and security improvements. Check out the two videos below if you need a visual and you’re new to updates on iPhone and iPad. Have you already installed the updates for Liquid Glass designs on iPhone and iPad?
