Apple Has a Surprise Launch Coming for iPad and Mac Fans This Week: Report
Apple isn’t done launching new hardware this fall, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman in his latest Power On newsletter on Sunday.
After releasing the iPhone 17 lineup, iPhone Air, AirPods Pro 3, and its new Apple Watch models, the company is now shifting focus to the rest of its product pipeline — and more announcements could land as soon as this week.
Gurman reports that Apple plans to unveil several new devices through an online announcement, rather than hosting an in-person event.
Among them are a next-generation M5 iPad Pro (which already leaked!) and an updated Vision Pro headset with a faster chip and improved head strap. Both products are said to be in mass production, suggesting a launch is imminent.
He also notes that a new MacBook Pro could make an appearance soon. While Apple had originally aimed to roll out M5 Pro and M5 Max versions of the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros early next year, Gurman believes the base model with the standard M5 chip may arrive sooner — the same chip powering the upcoming iPad Pro.
Shortages of current M4 MacBook Pro stock at Apple Stores further point to a refresh being close.
As for other products, Gurman says Apple is still developing new versions of the AirTag, HomePod mini, and Apple TV, all of which remain on the roadmap. Next year’s lineup is expected to include the M5 MacBook Air, new iPad Air and entry-level iPad models, two external monitors, and a more affordable iPhone 17e.
With Monday being Thanksgiving in Canada and also Columbus Day in the U.S., Apple could announce new products on Tuesday at the earliest, if this latest report from Gurman is correct.
