Elon Musk Hints Tesla Roadster Might Fly: ‘It’s Crazier Than James Bond’

Elon Musk says Tesla’s long-awaited Roadster (like, 8 years long) is nearing a prototype demonstration—and it could feature some wild new technology. The second-gen Roadster was first announced in November 2017.
Speaking on a 3-hour long podcast released today on The Joe Rogan Experience, Musk confirmed the next-gen Roadster is still in the works. “Yes. Eventually, we’re getting close to demonstrating the prototype and I think this will be… one thing I can guarantee is that this product demo will be unforgettable,” Musk said. When asked if that meant good or bad, he added, “Whether it’s good or bad, it will be unforgettable.”
When Rogan asked if the new Roadster could actually fly, Musk referenced a famous quote from his friend Peter Thiel: “My friend Peter Thiel once reflected that the future was supposed to have flying cars, but we don’t have flying cars.” Musk continued, “If Peter wants a flying car, we should be able to buy one.”
Pressed for details, Musk refused to reveal specifics before the unveiling. “I can’t do the unveil before the unveil,” he said, but hinted at major surprises: “I think it has a shot at being the most memorable product unveil ever.”
Musk said Tesla hopes to show the car “before the end of the year,” calling it “some crazy crazy technology.” When Rogan asked if it’s even a car anymore, Musk replied, “I’m not sure. It looks like a car. Let’s just put it this way: it’s crazier than anything James Bond. If you took all the James Bond cars and combined them, it’s crazier than that.” Now that’s what you call hype.
The Tesla CEO offered Rogan a private look before the public reveal, saying, “If you want to come a little before the unveil, I can show it to you 100%.”
This demo ought to be good, if it’s going to happen this year. Check out the new podcast below, with Musk sporting a new haircut that looks like he’s straight out of The Terminator. Are you ready for a flying Tesla?

Sounds like his usual bullcrap… There is 0% chance of a flying Tesla.
Both Musk and Bezos are delusional. If you recall, shorty said "soon' humanity will be living in outer space. And this site like many promotes engagement farming to attract readers.
Don’t think he said that the Tesla is going to fly. He just answered the question in an interesting way. He was literally asked if the car was going to fly, but not once did he ever straight up say the car was actually going to fly. So yes, there’s probably a 0% chance of a flying Tesla.
