Apple HomePod Mini Refresh Incoming? Retailers Are Running Dry

Apple product retailer B&H Photo has listed all versions of the HomePod mini as discontinued and removed them from sale, according to a report from MacRumors.

Other major U.S. retailers, including Adorama, Target, Walmart, Staples, and Verizon, also show limited or no stock of the compact smart speaker, suggesting a potential update may be near.

At the time of writing, Apple’s own website still lists all HomePod mini colours as available for purchase with immediate shipping or pickup.

MacRumors notes that supply shortages at third-party retailers often signal an upcoming refresh. Bloomberg previously reported that Apple is developing a new version of the HomePod mini that could launch before the end of 2025. The next model is rumoured to include an upgraded S-series processor and Apple’s N1 networking chip, though the overall design is expected to stay the same apart from possible new colour options.

Checking Apple.ca, the HomePod mini is still readily available in all colours with shipping within a couple of days. But third-party retailers such as Best Buy Canada are showing the HomePod mini as sold out, except for colours Midnight and White, which are backordered. Staples Canada still has the HomePod mini available for delivery, but stock at stores are limited. London Drugs still has lots of stock on hand as well. What do you think?

Regardless, you should not buy a HomePod mini until Apple ensures it will support the next-gen Siri and Apple Intelligence. Because right now Google’s Gemini and and even Amazon’s Alexa+ are blowing Siri out of the water.

We didn’t see any quiet HomePod mini announcements by press release today, as we only saw the $320+ iPhone Pocket, a sock that’s deemed a fashion accessory for the iPhone.
