The Game Awards Inks Deal With Amazon, Streaming on Prime Video in December

The Game Awards 2025 will be streamed on Prime Video, following a new deal inked with Amazon. This is the first time the award show will be live-streamed on a major service of this kind since launching in 2014.

This year, Game Awards will be live-streamed on Prime Video alongside YouTube and Twitch, the latter of which is also owned by Amazon. As first reported by VarietyAmazon will launch a dedicated shop for The Game Awards merchandise and offer “Prime-exclusive” deals across nominated games, new releases, hardware, and more, “revealed in real time.”

On top of supporting The Game Awards on Prime Video, Amazon will also be helping the award show live stream on Twitch in 1440p for the first time. During the 2025 show, Twitch Drops will be enabled, offering viewers who watch 30 minutes or more exclusive in-game content and a limited-edition TGA chat badge to use.

When speaking to Variety, The Game Awards creator and CEO Keighley spoke about Amazon’s impact on the show itself. “It’s important people know it doesn’t change our show at all,” he said. “We’re still making the same show. I came out of a life of working on television networks. And you had television folks that would give opinions and things on what you want the show to be. This is still The Game Awards. It’s the exact same show.”

The Game Awards will once again be held in person at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles on Dec. 11. The event will also be live-streamed on the aforementioned channels, starting at 8 PM ET/5 PM PT. The show promises many awards to be given, including ‘Game of the Year’. New game announcements and live musical performances are expected throughout the three-hour show. The Game Awards is confirmed to be welcoming the stars of Fallout to the stage. The second season debuts on Prime Video in December.
