If you’ve been procrastinating when it comes to getting a better cellphone plan, you’ve already missed the boat from Rogers, Telus and Bell and their flanker brands, as Boxing Day deals have mostly come to an end.
Quebecor’s Freedom Mobile recently updated its website to state their Boxing Week deals end today, which means it’s the last chance to get their $40/100GB global roaming plan, which includes an ongoing $9 bring your own phone credit.

Now, it’s worth noting plans $40/month and up require a minimum 3-month commitment. But you do get roaming data and talk and text, which is useful if you’re travelling outside of Canada and North America. At $40/month, that’s far cheaper than anything you can get from Rogers, Telus and Bell with global roaming. You only get 15GB of roaming data, but that should be enough if you’re not streaming or doom scrolling for a week or two, and have access to Wi-Fi.
The benefit of having global roaming in your phone plan means you don’t need to bother with a local SIM card or eSIM for data, while still getting all your 2-factor text messages and retaining your same phone number while abroad.

i would have switched my parents to $34/10GB + 1GB Roam Beyond (one-time), 120 destinations, if it wasnt for the 1 time -.- what is this non sense
