How to Watch Canada vs USA Olympic Hockey Gold Medal Game: Streaming, Live TV

Connor McDavid Canada Hockey

For the first time in 12 years (dating back to Sochi 2014), the world’s best hockey players are back on Olympic ice, and it has led to the ultimate showdown, the one we have all been waiting for since the start of the Winter Games. Canada will face off against the United States for the men’s hockey gold medal on Sunday, February 22, at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan.

After a thrilling 3–2 comeback win over Finland in the semi-finals, Sidney Crosby (game-time decision due to his lower body injury) and Connor McDavid have the chance to secure Canada’s third straight Olympic gold in tournaments featuring NHL players. Standing in their way is a high-powered American roster that dominated Slovakia 6–2 to earn their spot in the final.

How to Watch Canada vs. USA in Canada: Start Time, TV and Streaming

Puck drop is scheduled for 8:10 a.m. ET / 5:10 a.m. PT on Sunday morning (it’s an early one for the west coast). In Ontario, Premier Doug Ford has already approved 6 a.m. alcohol sales at bars and restaurants so fans can gather early to watch the game, a move already matched by Alberta and B.C. (5am sales; beer with your cereal?).

If you are watching from home, you have several options:

Crave and TSN+

Following the successful first-time live stream of the Super Bowl earlier this month (it resulted in streaming records for the service, naturally), Bell Media’s Crave is once again streaming TSN’s live coverage. If you have a Crave subscription that includes the TSN/RDS add-on, you can stream the gold medal game directly through the Crave app. Standalone TSN+ subscribers can also watch for $8 per month.

CBC and CBC Gem

As the official Olympic broadcaster, the CBC will provide full live coverage of the gold medal game on its main TV network. You can also stream the game for free across the country using the CBC Gem app or the CBC Olympics website.

Sportsnet

Sportsnet will also carry the game live as part of the unified Olympic broadcast agreement. Subscribers can tune in on TV or stream via the Sportsnet+ app.

The Historic Matchup

This game falls on the 46th anniversary of the “Miracle on Ice,” adding extra pressure for an American team that has not won Olympic gold since 1980. Canada has won all three previous gold medal meetings between the two nations (1920, 2002, and 2010), including Sidney Crosby’s famous ‘Golden Goal’ in Vancouver in 2010.

With 100 per cent NHL rosters on both sides, this battle of the ages is expected to be the most-watched hockey game in over a decade, and is essentially an outright NHL All-Star game, but with Olympic gold on the line. Time to set your alarms, folks.
