Koodo Mobile Customers Face $7 Monthly Price Hike Starting in March
Telus flanker brand Koodo is rolling out a price increase for some long-term customers, with monthly bills set to jump by $7 starting in March 2026, making for a surprise start to the month.
The change was recently spotted by users reviewing their latest billing statements. One Koodo customer, who has been with the provider for over eight years, noted that their popular $35 for 60GB plan is changing. According to the text on the bill, the base rate plan is increasing from $35 to $47. To partially offset this, Koodo is doubling its pre-authorized debit discount from $5 to $10, which leaves customers with a net increase of $7 each month.
Mobile users are encouraged to check the ‘Update to your monthly rate plan’ section of their statements to see if they are affected. The notice informs customers that if they do not agree with the new pricing, they have the right to cancel their service without penalty within 30 days of the change taking effect.
Some pointed out that Koodo should announce changes in billing to autopay through text and email, instead of burying it on the late page of a billing statement. Koodo is always quick to text customers special deals, but when it comes to bill changes, no text or email alerts are available.
So what can you do here? Your best bet is to switch to another carrier, then jump on any ‘winback’ sweetheart deals thrown your way, and then switch back if you really want to.
It seems $7 has become the new $5 when it comes to the price hikes we are seeing lately. Even the cost of a price increase is being hit by inflation.
Did your latest Koodo billing statement include a monthly jump? Let us know in the comments what your current plan is and how much more you will be paying.
