Telus flanker brand Koodo is again sending out a free perk to existing customers in the form of a montly data bonus.

According to a text message (titled ‘Unwrap an amazing offer’) received by iPhone in Canada reader, Winston, the text says “Hey Winston, we’ve got a sweet surprise for you!”

Koodo says they have added a 25GB data bonus every month, “on us”, with no catch or extra cost. The carrier said this is just their way of saying, “thanks for being with Koodo” and “enjoy”.

Now in order to keep this free 25GB monthly data bonus, you need to stay on your current rate plan to keep the perk.

Koodo does this 25GB data bonus seemingly every year. Why? Well, the extra data bonus seeks to lock customers down to stay with Koodo and not bother with the hassle of switching to a new provider.

Usually, these data bonus offers are targeted so not everyone will get them. You may want to check your text messages to see if you have any freebies from Koodo.

Recently, Koodo brought back its 25% off plans promo, in an effort to combat Freedom Mobile’s $40/250GB global roaming plan, which is still here, but a bit more expensive.
