Fido Just Raised Its Plan Prices — and Now Matches Koodo Across the Board
More cellphone price changes are here and this time Rogers-owned Fido has increased prices to now fall in line with Koodo’s pricing.
Here are the most recent price changes from Fido, Virgin Plus and Koodo as we near the end of May:
Fido
- $40/20GB (was $39)
- $45/60GB (was $44)
- $50/60GB (was $49) Canada-US-Mexico
Virgin Plus
- $39/20GB
- $44/60GB
- $49/60GB Canada-US-Mexico
Koodo
- $40/20GB
- $45/60GB
- $50/60GB Canada-US-Mexico
- $55/100GB
As you can see, Fido increased prices by $1 across the board, matching Koodo, aside from the latter’s $55/100GB plan. As it stands, Virgin Plus stands alone with the old pricing at $1 cheaper than its rivals, but you can likely bet they will match pricing soon.
We still have yet to see these flanker brands offer international roaming like Freedom Mobile. It seems the Big 3 will try to hold out for a long as possible, but they will eventually have to bend at some point, since those seeking cheaper roaming plans are jumping ship.
